Applicants are required to be members of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group, by the time of application and receipt of the prize. Applicants should be Ph.D. students and post-doctoral fellows in any discipline.

The Award will be given on the basis of general excellence in research related to pediatric oral health as demonstrated by the abstract, and poster or oral presentation (either face-to-face or online presentation).

The POHR Group will convene a judging panel comprising the current Executive Committee of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group. This panel will evaluate applications and select 4 finalists.

Therefore, finalists are expected to be available for the poster presentation session typically held at the start (first day) of the IADR General Session. The winner(s) will be announced in the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group business meeting. These finalists will be judged for the quality of the poster, oral presentation and responses to questions.

In case of a tie in votes between two or more candidates, the President will convene a second judging panel comprising former members of the Executive Committee of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group and continue to do so until one candidate has the majority of votes.

The Award will take the form of a plaque and a cash prize of US$1000.

Each applicant must be the primary author and be the presenter of an abstract accepted for presentation at the IADR General Session. The applicant must pre-register for the meeting as a student.
